Silhouettes

Who doesn't want to get a lovely silhouette portrait? They tend to be more emotional and personal than a typical portrait. They rely on the body language of the subjects instead of the eyes....that is the hard part :)

Now how to achieve the silhouette:
Have your camera in manual exposure and expose for the sky (your meter should be centered, thus properly exposed) have your subjects pose and let the sky paint a picture.

  2. This was taken at 830pm...it was dark, they sky was great as it was.
I added a touch of vibrance and contrast to get the extra pop.

When I set the exposure I had ONLY the sky in the viewfinder.

  3. Great post, Morgan...I'm shooting a wedding in February, and I'm hoping to get a few of the couple like this.
