Idle Chatter: Photographer for Photographers?
My husband HATES having his picture taken, and I hate using my remote and trying to get both of my small children to look at the camera while no one is behind it making a fool of themselves to laugh at.
There are a few decent photographers around my way, but I don't know about having someone else take my family portraits and not being able to edit them from their RAW format myself....I mean how would I even ask another photog if they would agree to that, most likely that would be a big N.O.
I would even be willing to trade digital negatives for digital negatives, family portraits for family portraits to get some decent pictures of my family all together.
So my question is: Is there a photographer for photographers?
or
Do you just go to a photographer and hope you love the shots?
I know I'm a bit of a control freak and I would probably love shots of my family from another photog and I probably hate the ones I do because I am my own worst critic but, I'm not sure if I want to chance it.
Done for my ramble of the day, just spilling from my brain to my fingertips to the keyboard.
Happy Friday!

Oh my goodness! I just recently posted a thread on ClickinMoms about this very thing! I have been trying to photograph my family for the past 4 years because I am also a control freak. And now, I look back at all the opportunities that I could have been in photographs and am not! I would totally be willing do to a trade and just exchange RAW images. :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! The control issue is limiting!
ReplyDeleteI never look right in photos as my face is mirror-image to what I'm used to seeing in the mirror.
I like the idea of the negative swap. I bet a lot of photogs would go for that, especially ones with families. I have a husband who hates being photographed and has taken to sticking his tongue out in every picture, so I gave up long ago. Now is just pictures of the the baby! Sans parents.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a site photographer for photographers were we could find locals and swap negatives.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a new venture for you Morgan!
ReplyDeleteI will start working on it! I think it would be a great tool for photogs.

I have the exact same problem. I take my own family photos so I have nothing great with me in it! But I don't have a photographer friend in town that shoots with my style to take our photo. Plus I hate being in front of the camera... Rita
ReplyDeleteWell Rita...maybe when I make my way down there we should meet up and swap some negatives :)
ReplyDeleteI live locally, && I would love to do this!!! I understand where you are coming from 100%!
ReplyDeleteTiffany: Do you have a blog/website/flickr?
